Battlefield 2042 System Requirements

Battlefield 2042

Battlefield 2042 is one of the most anticipated games of 2021. The Open Beta for this game is currently ongoing. It will run from 6th-9th October, with 8th and 9th October being free to play for everybody. Before this, EA has revealed system requirements for running the Open Beta. These are tentative and might change upon release. Initially, EA had planned to launch the game on October 22. However, they pushed the game back by almost a month. The game will launch on November 19 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. We got a glimpse of Battlefield 2042 a while back in a leaked video. The Open Beta won’t last long, and its only purpose is to scan the game for any minute imperfections.

The game does seem promising, but the minimum requirements are a bit on the higher end.

Battlefield 2042 Minimum System Requirements

OSWindows 10 64-Bit
CPUIntel Core Core i5-6600K | AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Memory8 GB
Graphics CardNVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti | AMD Radeon RX 560
Video Memory4 GB
DirectXDirectX 12
Internet ConnectionBroadband Internet Connection with 512kbps or faster connection
Storage100 GB

The minimum requirements for this game are slightly powerful than a base model PlayStation 4. This hints at a sub-optimal experience on the last generation consoles.

Although these are the official minimum requirements, one can still run the game on slightly older hardware. This suggests that EA might turn the minimum requirements down upon launch.

Battlefield 2042 Recommended System Requirements

OSWindows 10 64-Bit
CPUIntel Core Core i7-4790K | AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
Memory16 GB
Graphics CardNVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 | AMD Radeon RX 6600XT
Video Memory8 GB
DirectXDirectX 12
Internet ConnectionBroadband Internet Connection with 512kbps or faster connection
Storage100 GB

Although EA recommends the current generation Ampere and RDNA2 GPUs, the game will run perfectly fine in the highest possible settings in last-gen Turing cards with 8GB VRAM.

The Open Beta performs very well. Even on a Ryzen 5 3600 and a single GeForce GTX 1650 coupled with 16GB of RAM, the game got 60FPS constantly at medium settings. Although, the higher High, Ultra, and ‘Max Fidelity’settings were barely playable. The game ran well for the first few seconds, only to crumble into a terrible unplayable mess later.

Battlefield 2042 launches on November 19, 2021, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
