Steam’s sales are some of the craziest weeks in the video gaming industry. They see some of the biggest deals you will ever find in the entire year, and also mark epic Steam Sticker and Trading Card giveaways. While the former can be a unique way to chat with your friends on Steam, the latter can be traded for real money. One of these sales will show you why Steam is far ahead of any other online video games store and has far too much to offer.
Steam runs quite a few sales throughout the year. This year, in 2021, we had 8 sales total. These included the Steam Lunar Sale 2021, which ran from February 11 to February 15. Then, we had the Steam Golden Week Sale from April 29 to May 6, and the Steam Spring Cleaning Sale, which was renamed to Steam Open World Sale this year. The Open World Sale ran from May 27 to May 31. This was followed by the Steam Season of Pride Sale, which ran at the beginning of Pride Month from June 9 to June 23.
The Summer Sale caught up with the Season of Pride Sale from June 24 and took place until July 8. This was followed by a long period of no sales until late October, when the Halloween Sale ran from October 28 to November 1. The Autumn Sale was a bit late this year and occurred between November 24 and December 1. Finally, we have the Steam Winter Sale 2021, which began hours ago and will remain active until January 5, 2022.
As you guessed, the Summer Sale and the Winter Sale are the biggest sales on Steam’s calendar. They store the biggest things for these sales. These run for almost 2 weeks, unlike the 4 days to 1 week of the other sales.
Steam Winter Sale 2021 — The Rundown
The Winter Sale is a bit bigger than the Summer Sale, and a lot of factors made the 2021 iteration far more special. Large discounts, anticipation for 2022, and voting for the annual Steam Awards are making this year’s Winter Sale a big one.
