Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction is the latest entry in the long-running Rainbow Six series. Additionally, it is a spinoff to the events in Operation Chimera and Outbreak events that came to its predecessor, Rainbow Six Siege, a couple of years ago. Rainbow Six Siege is known for crazy optimization because it was built from the ground up as a competitive shooter. The game boasts three-digit frame rates in even some of the lowest entry-level cards that manufacturers like Nvidia and AMD are launching these days. Rainbow Six Extraction carries that optimization legacy, and Ubisoft makes it run on even some eight-year-old graphics cards.
Ubisoft lists an AMD Ryzen 3 1200 and GTX 960 as the minimum requirements you would need to run the game at the lowest settings. The highest settings would require a GTX 1070 coupled with a Ryzen 1500X. The GTX 1070 GPU still keeps up in most modern AAA titles to date, but GTX 960 is inadequate when it comes to running modern AAA titles. GTX 1050 slightly outperforms GTX 960, and that card is already starting to show its age in most games.
Let’s have a look at what the system requirements for Rainbow Six Extraction are. Although a first-person shooter like Rainbow Six Extraction isn’t meant to be played at 30 FPS, we will still list the minimum requirements to get the game up and running at that standard. 30 FPS gaming was fine and will be fine forever, but in a game that tests your reflexes, it may not be an optimal experience.

Although the listed system requirements might look quite standard, GTX 960 2 GB manages to pull off 1080p at almost 60 fps using the lowest settings. The game is superbly optimized. In a world of half-baked and badly optimized games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Watch Dogs: Legion, this is a different story altogether.
Rainbow Six turned itself into a competitive franchise with Rainbow Six Siege. Rainbow Six Extraction isn’t a competitive title, but more of a cooperative one. But, the crazy optimization secret sauce is definitely going to benefit the sales of this spin-off.
