Watch Dogs: Legion is known for innovation. The game caught the eyes of the masses because of its “play as anyone” feature. And, although the implementation was a bit off, Ubisoft nailed it for a first-generation iteration. The game is one of the best games of 2020, and with the release of some great DLCs, the game keeps getting better post-release. However, the system requirements for Watch Dogs Legion are disappointing, largely because its optimization on PC sucks.
This, along with poor optimization for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, earned Ubisoft an ignominy. You need at least a Core™ i5-4460 or a Ryzen™ 5 1400 coupled with a GTX 970 or a Radeon™ R9 290X to start. However, we’ve seen the game run fine on some weaker GPUs like the GTX 1050, the GTX 1050 Ti, and the RX 560. Ubisoft probably set the lower bar of entry a bit high to avoid complaints regarding poorly done optimization. That did not work out, and Ubisoft was openly ridiculed for their horrible job.
The good news is that the game supports NVIDIA© DLSS technology. So, gamers with an NVIDIA© GeForce™ RTX GPU can use the upscaling utility to boost their frame rates.
